1. Character Reproducible This page makes a great center activity or time filler. Your students will enjoy making up their own characters! You can give them a prompt for writing below their illustration, on the lines provided, or let them decide what to say about their creation. 2. You Can Draw! Reproducible Many students feel discouraged when asked to draw, so I made this handmade reproducible to help them feel confident enough to get started. 3. Character Traits Handout 4. Editable Character Traits Handout - I'm including an editable (PowerPoint) version as well so you can put traits on that you have talked about with your class.

How to Make a Snowman Makerspace Unit Plans

Everyone LOVES snowmen! Let your K-2 students make their own crafty snowman using your Makerspace or Craft Center with this unit. This includes 3 Lesson Plans and a Snowman planning sheet. Approximate teaching time of all lessons is five 45 minute classes. In Lesson #1 I give you a script that I use to introduce the simple research process of Super3 (TM) which is simply Plan, Do and Review. I have designed a kinesthetic way to introduce it to the students that they love! In lesson #2, I give you a script to use to help students identify the Plan, Do, Review aspects of the research process while watching a popular snowman movie, "The Snowman and the Snowdog." Lesson #3 outlines the procedure for students to plan their own snowman using the Planning Sheet. Then, they make their snowman using Makerspace/Craft Area materials. Finally, they review their work.

Earth Day PowerPoint Poster Project

This integrated technology project will absolutely excite your elementary kiddos! Use this 8.5" x 11" PowerPoint Poster Making resource as a culmination to your own Earth Day or Save the Earth unit. I use the Super 3 format. Students use the reproducible to PLAN their poster before even touching the computer. This way you can approve their work before the computer fun begins. Then they make (DO) the poster. Finally, after they print it, they REVIEW what they liked about their poster and what they would do differently next time. I've done this project successfully with 1st grade students just beginning to learn basic computer skills. Step by step teacher directions are provided so you can break the project into simple tasks for the students. This packet includes: * Earth Day Poster Planning Sheet reproducible * Word Bank with prepopulated words * Blank Word Bank for your students to brainstorm words * 3 Sample Posters * Essential Question * I Can statements * Teacher Directions

Celebrate Mardi Gras on Fat Tuesday with these Dabber Activity worksheets. They are a great way to help your students with their fine motor, counting, one-to-one recognition, vocabulary, and letter recognition. Students use the BINGO Dauber, or dot markers, to press down on each circle just like BINGO players do. Alternatively, if you do not have BINGO daubers, you can use manipulatives to cover the dots like pom poms and stickers (garage sale circle stickers are fun). Or even let those little fingers dip into paint!! In this presentation, you will find step-by-step directions on how to teach your students how to use an iPad and the iMotion HD app to create stop motion animation movies. I share how to make this work and the tips I learned along the way - from planning to presenting so that you can hit the ground running. 15 slides
